"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
In times of uncertainty, our natural tendency is to rely on our own understanding and resources. We want to figure everything out, to have a clear plan, to know exactly what's coming next. But God calls us to a different way - the way of faith.
True faith isn't about having all the answers; it's about trusting the One who does. When we face situations that confuse us or circumstances that frighten us, we have a choice: to panic or to pray, to worry or to worship, to doubt or to depend on God.
The Hebrew word for "trust" in Proverbs 3:5 implies lying helplessly facedown. It's a picture of complete surrender. This is the kind of trust God desires from us - not a tentative, hesitant trust, but a wholehearted reliance on Him.
